Shing Mun reservoir hike

A fantastic day for a leisure walk around the beautiful Shing Mun reservoir.

Accessible via mini bus, 81, 82 or 94S and stop near the BBQ areas.

This 9km walk has very few climb gradients and is great for all levels of hikers. The path is easy to follow and most of it follows close to the shoreline offering great views of the reservoir

More then 50% of the time there is shade by trees so it was a welcome relief from the sun.

Bring enough water, about 1.5 ltrs although there are a few places along the way to get some other drinks. Vending machines only so bring your octopus card.

Lots of monkey sightings and please don’t feed them. They can be aggressive to people passing by. Dispose of your rubbish properly please.

Enjoy the hike
