This is a great 4-5 hrs hike. Depending on the time of year it can be moderate to difficult. 7/10
we started by taking the MTR light blue line to Fanling station. At the exit you can get a green taxi to small Keng village and get out at the BB Happy store(Brides pool road). Taxi ride is about 20 min and about $110 HKD. From there walk down Brides pool road to find the entrance to the trail.
Bring lots of water. Although there are 2 small villages(Mui Tze Lam and Lai Chi Wo) were you can get food and pry water, there are far apart.
Not too many big mountains and for the first hour or so your follow the coast right across the after from mainland China.
we stopped in Lai Chi Wo for some traditional Hakka food? and Tsing Tao.
There are a few nice cool streams along the way to pour water over your head if need be as it was really hot for us, 32C and sunny. Only about 40% shade cover the whole way.
The trail ends in Shuen Wan right at the 295R(KMB)bus stop. We were there on a Sunday and the bus runs every 20 min. Check the schedule for other days of the week.
some great history of Hong Kong along this route and beautiful views some bring your camera!
