A great 10km hike on part of the Hong Kong Trail section 6 and section 8. And a portion of dragons back.

the hike itself is not that difficult….5/10. But the summer weather and humidity make it a challenge.

It was 32C nd 81% humidity in the sun most of the way. About 30% shade cover along the Hong Kong trail sections.

Total time was 2:15 hrs to Shek O beach.

We started the hike at Tai Tam, Hong Kong Park View Barbecue area.

The Tai Tam family walk brought us to the Tai Tam upper reservoir. Hong Kong Trail sec 6 from there and going thru another trail to get to Tai Tam road and Shek O road roundabout. From there, walk to the beginning of dragons back and past the Tai Tam Gap correctional institution. Be careful waking along Shek O road as there is no designated walk way for pedestrians for a short period and cars pass pretty close.

From the beginning of Dragons back, take the stairs up and follow the signs and then follow the signs to Big Wave Bay.
